Dinner the night of the event
Hey everyone.
How do you feel about KC's ideas? Do you want catering or do you want to go out to dinner? I've never been to Junction, but I can check into the restaurants today.
I'd like to check out the local color in Junction. I've been polling my students and apparently the mexican food place in front of the Super S is good, and there's also a cafe that serves the best chicken fried steak in Texas. They don't actually know the names of these places, but apparently it will be obvious once we're there.
Ok, I have down a little research and we have a couple choices. In regards to Kendall's comment, the place in front of the Super S is called A&M's. I have to call and see if they take credit cards, so that is pending. Also, it is very small smoking restaurant, so if anyone has a problem with smoking we can't go there. The other restaurants I found were Isaac's, Sunshine Cafe (lots of recommendations), Cooper's BBQ, and La Familia. Because we will be considered a large group in these small restaurants, I will need to make reservations. What time are you all wanting to eat dinner on Friday night and Saturday night?
OK, I have to make some of these plans as soon as possible, so I am going to make an executive decision. Friday night we will go to the Sunshine Cafe at 7:00 pm. Also, from what I understand you all are arriving on Thursday night. I am able to pay for two meals. Can I do a kick off meal on Thursday night, maybe a little later so everyone has a chance to get there? Please let me know ASAP as I have to make travel plans. THanks KC

If we are going to be working all day, I probably will be in the mood to get out for dinner.
As Susan said in her email, Thursday will be a bit early for me to be photogenic. Friday sounds good.
As for eating--going out or staying in both sound dandy to me. If someone else is paying, I'm pretty easy to please.
